stampin stuff

OK, so I decided not to post stamping stuff on here but I just can't help it. Check this out! It's the coolest little stationary box and it wasn't very hard to make. Take the lid off and:
The front panel drops down to reveal an address book, pocket for stamps and a beaded pen.
It also holds 10 gift tags.
Six 3 x 3 cards with envelopes.
And six regular sized cards with envelopes. I will be having a class in July to make these babies.

Ok, back to the yard project - I'll update you on the progress soon.
Still in the "what the heck was I thinking" stage but making progress
Sod coming tomorrow.....

playing around with color

I lost my scrap booking desk top again and need to find it. In the mean time I spread out all over the kitchen table and have been playing with color combinations. I love the Happiness background stamp, it makes it easy to experiment with different color combinations and be able to come out with a cute card with out taking a lot of time worrying if the design is going to work. I stamped the entire background in a bunch of colors - I started out with four and ended up with 12 - but that made it fun to put colors together and experiment. Here are my four favorites. I made some into a pocket card with the wild wasabi textured/scored card stock SU has for sale this month. The one below on the right still needs something but I loaned my wild wasabi stamp pad to Amy so it will have to be bare for a little while.

some stamping thoughts

I have had so much fun stamping lately. I actually had my desktop cleared off for two weeks and could work there - amazing how a clean space and a little organization can inspire someone. I actually considered entering Stampin' Up's artisan contest... but then reality struck, I have classes to work on, a missionary to get ready, a house to find under the clutter - maybe if I got it clean and organized I would be even more inspired. Maybe I will start now working on stuff for next year. I'm afraid it would consume my month and I don't have a month to spare.
